A concept-based curriculum increases student achievement for all students because the curriculum becomes more engaging. It also makes learning more relevant and allows for differentiation, which again increases achievement. The student's level of ability becomes less of an obstacle if the student learns through a conceptual lens - he/she will have a better chance of deeper understanding.

While learning through a conceptual lens, differentiation is not only possible, but probable. Students are encouraged to engage with concepts and relate those to their own lives and to form their own opinions. This will most certainly encourage students to investigate and collaborate to look at concepts from many angles. By engaging the student, they will learn not only the facts but those enduring understandings that they will take with them through life.

All students will be engaged, relationships will be strengthened, and transfer will increase as they see more possibilities with their education. The enduring understanding will last a lifetime not just a chapter so they will see this more as a life experience rather than a certain grade.
